A tacky high viscosity index base oil in a lithium soap grease diluted with a volatile carrier to enable it to penetrate into the lubrication slots of the links of drive chains.
The solvent rapidly evaporates and the polar solid lubricant molybdenum-disulphide bonds by mechanical action onto the working surfaces of the chain.
This leaves an adhesive grease which facilitates the hydro dynamic lubrication of the outside of the chain and the MoS? to provide the boundary lubrication for the links.
